Tourism is exploding in Phnom Penh, and driving a tuk-tuk is considered a good job. But competition is fierce. An entire day can go by with no fare, and pulling in $40 a month is considered good wages.
Strapping down 200 pounds of luggage while getting haggled with over fifty-cents is the norm. They make a living dollar-by-dollar and ride-by-ride, giving thrill rides to tourists while many will never hope to see outside of Cambodia.
